A few months ago Albion Screen Printing (Gatineau, Quebec) invested in a new Esko Kongsberg C24 digital cutting solution from Agfa Canada. This investment has enabled Albion to significantly increase its finishing productivity. “The added value of the Kongsberg table lies in the service and the robustness of the devices,” said Alain Deschamp, owner of Albion Screen Printing. “With the 3 kW motor in the router, we can cut materials like acrylic much faster.”

Albion specializes in a variety of large format products – including banners, posters, signage, fleet graphics, window / wall decorations and displays, as well as decals, promotional items, and nameplates and tags. Albion also offers a wide range of customer services – from screen and digital printing, die cutting, installations, distribution packaging and more to quick and accurate estimates, on-time deliveries and reliable installations. The company regularly helps clients by using its expertise as a consultant on a wide variety of issues – specifically, quality, performance, engineering, durability and other related challenges.

The innovative carbon fiber traverse of 3.2 meters makes the Kongsberg C series of digital cutters uniquely equipped for high speeds and rapid acceleration. Its rigid quality makes it possible to maintain consistent cutting accuracy in all materials. It also minimizes deflection when carrying heavy tools or kinks with high downward force. The Kongsberg C-series is the only super-wide finisher with a powerful 3 kW high-performance milling unit for continuous operation. It can be configured for milling applications ranging from sporadic, light milling to long work with high-performance materials – while increasing productivity. The sturdy tooling unit provides an output force of 500 N (110 lbs.), Which is sufficient to crease even the most demanding materials with crease dimensions with a large diameter of 150 mm.

A complete set of advanced, quick-change tool heads offers versatility and makes it easy to set up the cutting table to process any material. The precise automatic Z-control during cutting and milling by means of table top mapping guarantees a high finishing quality. A rack and pinion drive system offers the speed, durability, and the power required to travel through dense, thick materials. The Kongsberg C-Series can be equipped with a large format roll feeder to support heavy duty rolls of materials such as textiles and vinyls up to 3,330 mm (131 inches) wide.
