Ahold Delhaize Banner Stop & Shop has taken a bold step in expanding its grocery collection offering. The company is pursuing a similar strategy to other well-known retailers and is testing a walk-in locker program at its location in Brigham Circle in Boston, Massachusetts.
“Stop & Shop is dedicated to delivering innovative food solutions to our customers, especially as we continue to face the pandemic,” said Stacy Wiggins, vice president of e-commerce operations at Stop & Shop, in a press release. “The locker pick-up program is another avenue we’re working on Accelerate our e-commerce offerings So that our customers can shop and collect their groceries at the most convenient time for their schedule. We hope that you will get more time back in your day when you no longer have to wait in line or go to the store. “
According to local news source boston.comCustomers can place orders online and select a pick-up window before receiving their personal code for the locker kiosk. The lockers are located near the main entrance of the store easier than ever get on and off quickly.
The lockers include a refrigerated, frozen and room temperature storage room where the customers’ items are stored by members of the Stop & Shop team. In addition, they are disinfected after each use and monitored around the clock.
