Banner Well being asking group to help medical suppliers by native foundations fairly than direct meal donations – Greeley Tribune

One of the most common and in-depth ways the community has found to support healthcare workers during the COVID-19 pandemic is to donate meals to those workers who are fighting the pandemic.

Banner Health recently announced that the Banner Hospital foundations in Weld and Larimer counties are creating avenues to support these workers to better coordinate the community goodwill that may come with the current COVID-19 surge.

As a result, Banner no longer accepts food donations in hospitals, according to a press release. Instead, the banner leaders ask people to divert funds to the foundations.

In this way, the managers can plan meals for the teams and distribute them in a coordinated manner according to the press release.

“Health workers said meal and snack gifts were some of the most uplifting things they have relied on during the pandemic,” Carrie Haas-Vukosovich, Banner’s senior human resources business partner, said in the press release. “Unfortunately, for security reasons and because of staff, the hospitals cannot accept food donations from the community.”
