Derrell Dean Holloway (Bubba), 82, passed away peacefully on Saturday, January 23, 2021 with his family by his side in Dallas, Texas.
There is currently no service.
Mr. Holloway was born on December 20, 1938 in Wharton, Texas. He lived with his family in Los Fresnos, Texas until his early twenties. He graduated from Los Fresnos High School, where he excelled in both football and the racetrack. After high school, Bubba attended Texas Southmost College, graduating with an associate degree in business. Shortly thereafter, he moved to Greenville and stayed there for the duration of his life.
He married Sandra Lee (Dobson) Holloway on May 2, 1970 in Bonham, Texas
He worked for E-Systems for over 30 years and retired in his early 50s. Bubba enjoyed working at E-Systems, where he was promoted to Chief Mechanic through crews responsible for maintaining the Presidential Air Force One fleet.
He was an active member of the Oak Creek Golf Course and spent most of his time golfing there. He loved golf. He played in numerous local and state golf tournaments. Bubba was a member of the team that won the State Amateur Team Championship for two years.
Bubba is survived by his daughter Shelby Ann Myatt, grandchildren Sean Cain, Annie Cain, Sam Cain and Will Myatt. his brother and spouse Homer (Bit) and Betty Holloway, his nieces and nephews; Jill Turner, Jennifer Gaddis, Taz Holloway, Dennis Holloway and Debbie Shakespeare.
He is also survived by numerous friends who loved him very much.
Before him, his mother and father, Homer Edgar Holloway and Mable Holloway, his brother JW Holloway, his nephew Derry Lee Holloway and his wife Sandra Lee Holloway had died.
