CARROLL COUNTY, Va. (WFXR) – A $ 2.28 million investment from a screen-printed clothing manufacturer will create 118 new jobs in Carroll County.

Blue Ridge Designs has seen growing demand for its products that use a unique watercolor ink process, the company said. It has grown from 10 employees in February to over 90, a statement from the governor’s office said.

“We are very excited about the company’s fourth expansion in the past year, strong evidence of the strength of Virginia’s manufacturing sector in empowering communities across the Commonwealth,” said Governor Ralph Northam, D-Va. “We thank Blue Ridge Designs for their commitment to Southwest Virginia and look forward to the company’s future success.”

The company is supported by the Virginia Jobs Investment Program, which provides advisory services and funding for new jobs, the governor said.

“We have done a great job paying attention to details and making all the necessary improvements to deliver the highest quality products and I think this will give us the opportunity for further growth in the years to come,” said Greg Crowder. President of Blue Ridge Designs.
