Donald (Don) Albert Attaway was born on April 5, 1959 in Dallas, Texas, to Rufus and Marilyn Attaway. He died on February 6, 2021 in Caddo Mills, TX after a long battle with multiple myeloma. He is survived by his 43-year-old wife, Carol Attaway of Caddo Mills, daughter and son-in-law Jennifer and Billy Grinstead from Prosper, TX, two granddaughters, Joelea and Kaylee Grinstead, son and daughter-in-law James and Brooke, Attaway of Caddo Mills, sister Danna Doughty and the brothers Daniel and Douglas Attaway.
He was employed by CBRE in Carrollton, TX as a building maintenance, electrical and HVAC engineer. His career has taken him around the world and has long been a member of the International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers, America’s communications worker, and running his own HVAC business in Hunt County. He worked hard, but he also enjoyed a lot of interests like generating alternative energy, making cigar box guitars, hanging out with his granddaughters, and always keeping a new project in the works.
He has been based in Caddo Mills, TX since moving in 1969.
He is cremated by Ingram Funeral Home in Quinlan, TX. A memorial is held by the family in April. Flowers are appreciated, but please donate to the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society in his honor.
