PALO ALTO, Calif. And REDWOOD CITY, Calif., Nov. 12, 2020 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) – HP Inc. (NYSE: HPQ) and Shutterfly, the world’s leading online retailer of personalized products, today announced a landmark addition to their Strategic Products Relationship to providing the highest levels of productivity to serve the growing e-commerce market for photo gifts and photo products.
Shutterfly is investing in more than 60 new high-performance HP Indigo digital presses to increase the productivity of its high-quality, photo-based and personalized products such as photo gifts, photo books, school portraits, Christmas cards and home decor.
The agreement with Shutterfly, the leading US provider of HP Indigo digital printing, is the largest single customer order for the HP Graphics business to date. The rollout currently includes HP Indigo 100K next-generation, high-productivity B2-size digital presses, versatile HP Indigo 12000 digital presses, and significant investments in web-controlled photo presses to convert photo portrait printing to digital printing.

The annual global photo printing and merchandise market is expected to reach $ 3.117 billion by the end of 2026, with a CAGR of 8.1% in 2021-2026 compared to $ 1.7960 billion in 2019.1

In this latest wave of installations, Shutterfly is investing in three HP Indigo press generations and formats. Shutterfly was one of the first beta sites for customers of the new 29-inch HP Indigo 100K, which is designed for high productivity and non-stop printing, while offering Indigo’s familiar digital offset appearance. Shutterfly’s new HP Indigo 12000 Presses, equipped with a Value Pack, deliver high quality prints in a wider range of inks and materials up to 24 pt, including synthetic, metallized and canvas applications.
The presses will be installed in four manufacturing facilities in Shakopee, Minnesota. Fort Mill, South Carolina; Tempe, Arizona; and Plano, Texas for the next 18 months.
To keep production at the highest level, Shutterfly uses HP PrintOS, the cloud-based PSP management solution, to monitor press productivity in real time and to limit press availability to a maximum.
