Impressions Printing, one of Canada’s premier printers, recently became the first Canadian printer to install a KODAK NEXFINITY Digital Press. This has strengthened the internal digital printing capacity in order to provide its customers with unsurpassed print quality. Impressions Printing, based in St. Thomas, Ontario, provides a full range of commercial printing to customers across the country and provides in-house offset, large format, fulfillment and digital printing services.
In the first few weeks with NEXFINITY, Impressions Printing saw a speed increase of 40 percent compared to its previous digital press. NEXFINITY is designed for maximum throughput at production speeds of up to 152 A4 pages per minute. Impressions Printing also referred to immediate improvements in expanded sheet size, high substrate capacity, and NEXFINITY’s Fifth Imaging Unit solutions, which add specialty inks, a range of finishes and long sheet sizes quickly, easily, and cost-effectively.
“We were looking for a solution that would allow us to further differentiate ourselves in terms of speed and quality. NEXFINITY allowed us to increase our production volume while increasing customer satisfaction,” said Cory Stuart, President of Impressions Printing. “In the short amount of time we’ve used our KODAK NEXFINITY Press, it has been shown to be an incredibly versatile machine that offers a powerful combination of image quality, consistency and low cost of ownership.”
NEXFINITY was developed with Dynamic Imaging Technology, a patented Kodak digital printing technology that enables printers to produce crisp text, hard lines, soft skin tones and a beautiful sky on the same page throughout the run. With a new high resolution, multi-bit LED writing system, the press produces the widest range of uses including direct mail, commercial printing, publishing and packaging. Thanks to the seamless integration into workflow and finishing solutions, the printing press is optimized for the production workflow of a printer.
