Is Venti Lastly Getting One other Banner?

Genshin Impact offers a glimpse into V1.4 of the game, which promises a celebration of Lunar City and all things windy. So can the players expect Venti?

Genshin Impact Fans recently celebrated the arrival of two new five-star characters and several in-game events. Version 1.4 of the game is fast approaching, however, and promises a lot of new content. Version 1.3 of the game is heavily linked to the character Xiao, but according to a new special program, V1.4 seems to be putting Moon City and the wind in general in the spotlight.

Travelers now have a general roadmap for the upcoming Genshin Impact version 1.4 update, which appears to be introducing several new wind-themed festive events as part of Mondstadt’s “Windflower” celebration. Those events aside, along with new characters like the four-star warrior Rosaria, the update appears to include some expected quality of life adjustments.

The game’s developer, miHoYo, has made a tradition of hosting dedicated livestream programs in anticipation of important upcoming updates to the game. Therefore, March 6th was the date of a special version 1.4 program. Not only did this video confirm that Rosaria is arriving as part of the V1.4 update, it also gave an in-depth look at some of the events and additions to be expected, some of which are quite windy.

Thanks to this new teaser video, fans of the game now have confirmation that the popular five-star character Venti will finally return to the banners of the game. Venti will actually return with her own character event request, which will take place alongside the in-game Windflower Festival as part of the V1.4 update. As Rosaria launches as the new polearm holder, players can try and wish for the mighty five-star anemo “Archon” Venti.

Many fans of the game saw this announcement shortly after the special program began, as the video highlights many of Moon City’s windiest features, including Venti. The fact that the special program also had a dual focus on Rosaria, a new character, along with Venti, made it seem like Venti could be a part of Rosaria’s introduction. Many travelers enjoy another opportunity to add this five-star status to their teams, as players can typically only summon “featured” five-star characters during their respective introductory character events.

Unless the character is later added to the wanderlust invocations list (also known as standard summons), which is not always the case, players will simply have to wait for the character to be introduced during another wish for a character event. In fact, fans of the explosive pyro-magician Klee often express frustrations similar to those of Venti fans. Both characters were introduced to the game in their early stages and travelers have not yet been given another opportunity to befriend them. Thankfully, the 1.4 special program not only gives hope that other older five-stars will return soon, it also confirms it.

Mihoyo coming spring 2021 sign

Venti aside, players now also know that version 1.4 will revisit the Hydro user and the certified “bad boy” known as Tartaglia / Childe. This mercury five-star character also receives its own character event request in version 1.4, the start date of which, however, is still unclear. Hopefully by then, players can earn a new mini Oceanid pet as they make a nice addition to Childe. This news is a double-edged sword, however, because as many fans have been quick to point out, it means that V1.4 may not introduce a new five-star star at all.

While this may actually be the case, players should also remember what recently happened to the game’s V1.3. While players thought Xiao would be the only newcomer Keqing would follow, miHoYo tossed a curveball for fans and introduced Hu Tao right after Keqing. Who can say that there are no other surprises for V1.4? After all, Ayaka has been in the works for some time. Fans just have to wait and see what comes next, but this confirmation at least gives fans an idea of what to expect.

Genshin Impact is available now for mobile, PC and PS4 and is currently in development for PS5 and Switch.
