March Home windows 10 Replace Inflicting Printers to Crash Computer systems

Some users who installed the Windows 10 March Monthly Cumulative Update report that they were unable to print properly afterwards. Instead, the computer displays what is known as the blue screen of death.

In particular, the problem appears to affect Kyocera, Ricoh, and Zebra printers. After installing the latest KB5000802 update, Windows 10 shows blue screen of death and error code “APC_INDEX_MISMATCH for win32kfull.sys” when sending a file to print on these printers.

The error is related to a mismatched driver and occurs when printing from Notepad, Microsoft Word and other system apps. This means it doesn’t appear to be associated with a specific program or doesn’t print on Windows.

Microsoft has identified these issues, but it is unknown when to fix them. The support page for the KB5000802 update mentions that the company has concerns. “We are currently investigating and will provide an update as more information becomes available,” notes Microsoft.

This issue is well documented on Reddit as picked up on the Windows Latest blog. Windows users are also discussing the problem on a Microsoft Answers page. With over 1 billion Windows 10 devices worldwide, the scope and extent of the problem are unknown.

If you are having problems with this update, the best thing to do is to try uninstalling it from your computer. Those on the Reddit thread and others who are having problems report that this might solve the problem. However, please note that the KB5000802 update in question also contains important security patches and bug fixes for Windows 10. Uninstalling it could put your computer at risk.

If you want to uninstall the update that is causing these problems, you can do so by clicking the Start menu, selecting the Settings icon, and then going to Update and Security. From there, click View update history and then click Uninstall updates. Then you want to find the update in the list and click on it, followed by Uninstall. Your computer will then restart and the problematic update will be removed.
