Alabama Shipyard LLC won a $ 19.7 million contract for 76 calendar days shipyard availability for regular overhaul / dry docking at USNS Lewis and Clark (T-AKE 1). The U.S. Army is using 3D printing technology to make N95 respirators, the Department of Defense’s medical technology bureau chief said Jan. 25. Air Force Maj. Gen. Daniel Williams, of the U.S. Army’s Medical Materiel Development Activity’s Warfighter Expeditionary Medicine and Treatment Project, said his primary responsibility is to assist the Department of Defense’s trading partners in making respirators that meet military requirements. While the companies have experience modeling products in 3D, many “never made medical devices,” Williams said.

U.S. Marines from the Special Purpose Marine Air-Ground Task Force Central Rapid Response Command worked with U.S. Airmen from the 378th Air Expeditionary Wing during a recent TACAIR FARP (Tactical Air Forward Arming and Refueling Point) exercise on Prince Sultan Air Base in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia. Greece has signed the contract to buy 18 Rafale fighters. Theodoros Lagios, General Director of Defense and Investment for the Greek Ministry of Defense and Eric Trappier, Chairman and CEO of Dassault Aviation, signed the documents on January 25th. Dassault says aircraft deliveries will begin in the summer of 2021 and will be spread over two years.
The Australian government has announced that it will spend $ 1 billion on providing long-range anti-ship missiles, extended-range surface-to-air missiles, advanced light torpedoes and maritime land attack capabilities for the Royal Australian Navy.
