Original press release:

Greydon introduces high resolution digital printers for medical devices, blister packs and IV bags

YORK, PA. (PRWEB) SEPTEMBER 18, 2019 – Greydon, a ProMach product brand, introduces the Genesis-M, the latest in the Genesis line of digital printers for medical device packaging and blister packs. It will be exhibited for the first time at Pack Expo 2019. September 23-25 at the Las Vegas Convention Center.

Genesis printers are designed to print directly onto the packaging, eliminating or dramatically reducing the need to manage preprinted materials. No printing plates are required for the fully digital workflow, which enables faster changeover and higher OEE.

Genesis is available in both traversing and stationary in-line configurations to ensure optimal printing on any horizontal package or blister machine. The Genesis is available in monochrome, two-color and full-color (CMYK + W) versions and can also be combined with a secondary printing form (Flexo, TTO, TIJ, CIJ, etc.) for a hybrid system that prints on both sides of the film.

Both the Genesis-M and the original Genesis use XactCure ™ to cure UV-activated inks on porous and non-porous substrates. XactCure is a process built into the printer that can be used to control and record every aspect of the curing process. Taking all variables into account for proper curing, XactCure prevents ink migration and cracking, even with IV bags that are difficult to print.

Genesis interfaces with serialization and manufacturing software to ensure full UDI and DSCSA compliance – compliant with GS1 and HIBCC standards.

Also includes the benefits for medical businesses of paperless document recording with document security and authenticity, comprehensive reporting, and 21 CFR Part 11 tags.

Greydon also offers label design software that can be installed on a separate PC to create and manage templates. Since this software is also installed on the Genesis HMI, it can be used directly on the computer for local label creation and editing. The HMI has several user privilege based controls to prevent unauthorized changes to the label, configuration, or even operation of the printer.

Greydon’s bespoke electronics enable full functionality and development and keep Greydon on the cutting edge of innovation.
