PRINT United Alliance and Idealliance today announced their intention to merge the two organizations. Each company’s board of directors unanimously voted in favor of the merger. Last year SGIA and PIA officially merged to form the PRINTING United Alliance, the largest and most comprehensive printing and graphics association in the country. This new project with Idealliance will further support the association’s investment in the long-term success and strength of the industry.

“In the past few years, PRINTING United Alliance has focused on bringing together under one roof the efforts and institutions that have the greatest impact on printing,” said Ford Bowers, CEO of PRINTING United Alliance. “We are pleased that Idealliance can join us as an outstanding association for standards, training and education in our industry. Our media and reach in various print segments, the numerous events we host, including the PRINTING United Expo, and membership in more than 6,000 companies will all help to strengthen and expand Idealliance’s work as an “association within an association” at home and abroad and through his mission will continue to help our industry thrive. “

“Idealliance is recognized worldwide as a leader in the certification and training of color management professionals,” said Dick Ryan, CEO of Idealliance. “In order to further advance the program planning of Idealliance, this merger offers considerable growth opportunities through the robust platforms of PRINTING United Alliance and fits in with many of the association’s current offers and success strategies. In collaboration with PRINTING United Alliance, we aim to offer all graphics communication professionals global standardization, training and certification programs for the printing and packaging supply chain. This partnership enables us to expand our efforts into new markets to train and certify professionals, processes and systems around the world. Together we want to serve the printing and packaging industry better than ever. “

The proposed merger of the two organizations will close on March 1st after Idealliance members have considered it at an active members meeting on January 28th in accordance with Idealliance’s statutes. Further information and details will be announced shortly.
