Raley’s debuted in 2018 with its first small format Market 5-ONE-5 banner focusing on organic, nutrition and education. Now the retailer’s latest banner seems to combine the mission of Market 5-ONE-5 with the name of Raley in a slightly larger space. Raley’s first ONE Market opened on June 27 in Truckee, California, near the Nevada border, and measures 35,000 square feet.
“It became increasingly clear that our customers want to know where their food comes from, what is in it and how it can affect their overall health and wellbeing,” said Keith Knopf, President and CEO of Raley. “We’re always listening and learning, and that led us to the next step in transforming our business: Raley’s ONE Market. It is a shopping destination that provides customers with access to and information on thousands of products for healthier eating. “
Raley’s ONE Market offers a highly curated range of products that are fresh, nutritious, organic when possible, minimally processed and from sustainable sources. The products on the new banner cannot contain anything from the grocer’s list of prohibited ingredients, such as: B. high fructose corn syrup, artificial preservatives, artificial flavors, and hydrogenated fats and oils.
Loyalty program customers who shop at Raley’s ONE Market can also take part in Raley’s Something Extra Health, a new personal wellness travel program that includes in-store tours and classes, nutritional advice and more.
The store’s meat section is antibiotic and hormone free, all seafood is 100% sustainable, and a wide variety of freshly prepared foods are great for dining or take away. Upstairs, customers will also find a beer and wine bar that serves local craft brews, curated wines, and chef-created canapés.
“This concept will influence and control the strategic transformation of existing Raley branches in the near future,” said Knopf. “It’s part of our long-term brand differentiation strategy.”
