Replace, pre-load information & Xiao Banner

The gaming community sure had enough to keep itself busy by 2020. Some games turned out to be wonderful, such as Demon Souls; Foster a sense of nostalgia while others, like Cyberpunk 2077, couldn’t deliver where it mattered. In such a situation, would a mobile game triumph? Well, it sure is that Genshin Impact has been met with both applause and criticism. He managed to capture the expansive nature of Breath of the Wild (2017) and add the elements of a gacha game.

The updates were consistent to keep players engaged in the game. The newest of them all, Genshin Impact 1.3 promises a much deeper world of intricate lore for RPG enthusiasts.

Here is our one-stop guide: Genshin Impact 1.3: Release Date, Weapons, Geo Buff, Xiao Banner, New Characters, Zhongli reveal details in no particular order.

Why should I play the Genshin Impact game?

Genshin Impact is an open world action role-playing game developed and published by miHoYo. It features a fantasy-based game that is heavily focused on an action-based third party combat system that uses elemental magic and character switching in the game. It is based on gacha game monetization to help you grow your list of fighters and weapons.

While we want to dig deeper into the story, it would be better if you check it out for yourself. The firsthand experience is better than just taking our word for it. As a side note; If you want to relive BotW’s glorious endgame storyline, we recommend looking elsewhere.

Release date of Genshin Impact 1.3

Genshin Update 1.3 promises a new chapter, but this time with a somewhat dark approach. A new Xiao banner is looming on the horizon. The patch update means reinstalling the game.

The appointment is currently set for February 3, 2021 at 2:00 p.m. PST (5:00 p.m. EST / 10:00 p.m. GMT). The developers have issued the notes, which contain a detailed description of all the items coming for the new patch.

A new event called Lantern rite, is supposed to take place where you can get a 4 star liyue character of your choice. It also promises some new quests that end with a huge reward for having Xiao himself on your team list. Get ready to grind I guess.

How do I pre-install Genshin Impact 1.3?

The 1.3 update is expected to be preloaded on February 1, 2021 around 3 a.m. Support for the PC and mobile platforms is mentioned, while the PlayStation 4 version is not mentioned.

The pre-installation process involves a few steps. Be sure to check out our guide below which has pointers for both PC and mobile platforms of the game.

Preloading the Genshin Impact update will make loading much smoother and faster, even if the preinstallation is incomplete.

1. PC platform:

  1. Once the pre-installation feature is available, you’ll need to update the game launcher.
  2. After the launcher has refreshed, a “Game Preinstall” button will appear to the left of the “Start” button.
  3. Click Game Pre-Install to download the latest resources.
  4. After preinstalling, when the new update is released all you need to do is open the launcher and hit “Update”.
  5. If the preinstallation process does not complete, you will still see the Update button. However, the download process will continue once the “Pre-Installation Package” is completed.

2. Mobile platform (iOS & Android)

  1. You can access the pre-installation resources by going to the Paimon menu> Settings> Other> and finally the pre-installation package.
  2. The pre-installation update is located in the lower left corner of the login menu and can be accessed by tapping the Pre-Install Resource Pack.
  3. When the version update is released, go to the Play Store (or App Store) and tap Update.

For those who run the game on PC, the game can continue, although some restrictions are in sight. According to miHoYo:

Travelers on PC can continue to play the game while they pre-install the game resources. The preinstallation uses a certain part of the bandwidth of your network. So the best thing to do is to make sure you have a good network connection before starting the preinstallation.

Travelers on mobile platforms will not be able to play the game during the pre-installation of the game resources. It is recommended that travelers complete any domains or other challenges they would like to end first before beginning the preinstallation.

Genshin Impact 1.3 weapons and skins

New weapons in your armory are to be released, from stylistic skins to new weapons. Much of the Inazuma weapons will also experience a change.

“Bakufu”, “Narukami”, “Wildsith”, “Kunwu” and “Morax” make up the cluster. A statement from a fairly reliable Genshin Impact Leaker NEP supports the claim of a new line of artillery, some of which are the mainstays for Xiao and Zhongli.

We currently have confirmation of improved drop rates for the Primordial Jade Cutter and Primordial Jade Winged-Spear, both 5-star weapons.

Others are the 4-star weapons the flute (sword), the sacrificial greatsword (claymore), the rust (bow), the eye of perception (catalyst) and the Favonius lance (polearm).

Genshin Impact 1.3 Geo Buffs and Zhongli’s Upgrade

Genshin Impact 1.3 Zhongli’s December 2020 debut wowed fans of the game for getting the kit. However, many felt that the value of the kit did not justify the value of the character in the game and called for improvement. miHoYo eventually gave in to the issues plaguing the Zhongli issue and initially came out with a lackluster update.

The need for a buff has been seen many times even on the Reddit forums.

The latest changes in Update 1.3, however, are intended to improve its base stats and improve Geo as an element that any player can use in Genshin Impact 1.3. The lack of power associated with the geo-element will change, and improvements in player and weapon status will also experience a significant buff.

Mihoyo also plans to polish the geo-element in two major ways:

  • All Geo-Shields (Zhongli’s Jade Shield, Noelle’s Breastplate, Crystallized Geo-Shield) no longer have 250 percent absorption effectiveness against Geo damage. Instead, they have a 150 percent absorption effectiveness against physical and elemental damage.
  • The geo-elementary resonance “Enduring Rock” increases the shield strength by 15 percent. Shielded characters increase the damage by 15 percent, but also reduce the geo-resistance of the enemies hit by 20 percent for 15 seconds.

Zhongli’s integral presence in the game’s story and his characterized geo-element will finally get the recognition and impact (note the pun) it should deserve.

Genshin Impact 1.3 New characters

Genshin Impact 1.3 will come with its title character Xiao, an Anemo Adepti whose signature weapon is the polearm. His voice actor Yoshitsugu Matsuoka also plays the role of Inosuke in Kimetsu no Yaiba. Laila Berzins will express it in English.

A second character is also expected, named Hu Tao. A pyro elemental polearm user who is notorious for her pranks.

Hu Tao is mostly voiced by Rie Takahashi, who previously voiced anime characters like Megumin from Konosuba and Emilia from Re: Zero. Hu Tao is voiced in English by Brianna Knickerbocker. She has previously portrayed characters like Rem from Re: Zero.

We also have an increased drop rate for Keqing under the Xiao banner. However, the timeframe to receive them is limited to a narrow window of 14 days.

Genshin Impact 1.3 banner leak

1. Five bursts of luck:

You earn Primogems and Camera Filters by taking photos in Teyvat. You can trade these rewards with your friends. The title seems appropriate for a game based solely on luck.

2. May happiness find you:

If you sign up daily, you will get a free Intertwined Fate every day.

3. Vishaps and where to find them:

Geo seems to be the core of the Genshin Impact 1.3 update. Geovishap becomes the brand new enemy to defeat in order to upgrade Xiao. This also opens up new events to explore.

4. Leyline overflow

During the event, the first three leylines you complete offer double the normal reward.

This pretty much sums up what is slated for the Genshin Impact 1.3 update. To sum it all up, here’s a video from the developers themselves.
