Southeastern Grocers Investing in Fresco y Más Banner

Southeastern Grocers had a transformation year in 2020 that was about becoming a public company and decided to ditch its bi-lo banner. With the sale of 62 of its Bi-Lo stores to Food Lion and a further 23 stores to Alex Lee Inc. and B & T Foods, Southeastern Grocers (SEG) focused on investing in Banner Fresco y Más, Harveys Supermarket and Winn-Dixie .

Now, on October 21st, SEG is opening Fresco y Más’s newest Hispanic grocery store in Lehigh Acres, Florida. According to SEG, by listening to customer feedback and analyzing key consumer insights, the new Lehigh Acres Fresco y Más (the banner’s 27th store) has tailored products and services that directly reflect the unique tastes and needs of the local community.

“At Southeastern Grocers, we are committed to creating a shopping experience that meets the needs of each community we serve and the daily lifestyle of our customers,” said Anthony Hucker, President and CEO of SEG. “With the growing desire for Hispanic products in southwest Florida, we are excited to introduce the Lehigh Acres community to our Hispanic grocery store – Fresco y Más. The new store has all of the aspects that customers love about our Fresco y Más stores, as well as personalized offers suitable for the Lehigh Acres community. “

The deal will include a full-service Latin American butcher shop (carnicería), a brand new bakery (panadería) and a coffee shop (serving freshly brewed Cuban coffee).

Prior to the store opening, Fresco y Más will distribute £ 25,000 of fresh produce and shelf stable groceries to the local community on October 10th as part of a mobile drive through event in partnership with Lehigh Community Services.
