Stratasys Introduces Enterprise-Class Multi-Materials Polyjet 3D Printer for Engineering Prototypes

EDEN PRAIRIE, Minn. & REHOVOT, Israel – (BUSINESS WIRE) – Stratasys Ltd. today announced the latest in the family of high-performance PolyJet ™ 3D printers for multi-material businesses. The new J850 ™ Pro 3D printer offers functions of the J8 series that are specially tailored to technical requirements, without full color, at an affordable price. It enables engineers to prototype for concept review, design validation and functional performance using the latest materials, including transparent VeroUltra ™ Clear. The J850 Pro complements the existing J850 Prime for designers and engineers who also need full color printing.

With its capacity for seven simultaneously broadcast materials, fast printing and extremely high accuracy, the J850 Pro helps designers and engineers to be faster and more productive. It includes rigid, flexible and composite digital materials that enable a wide range of functional applications with a build capacity of 490 x 390 x 200 mm. Concept models can be printed at twice the speed of older systems in super high-speed mode and at about half the cost per part using DraftGray material. The J850 Pro can be software upgraded to the Prime version for full color printing.

“The value of our PolyJet 3D printers to customers – in terms of throughput, accuracy, reliability and multi-material capability – is well established and the J850 Pro is now offering our technical customers that value at an affordable price,” said Stratasys. Design Vice President Shamir Shoham.

Typical applications that are well served by the J850 Pro are the accurate simulation of textures, product labeling, shock absorption, fit and function tests, overmolding, living hinges, injection molds, embedded sealing elements, simulation of parting lines, structural mechanics and integrity see-through elements such as transparent materials for light-guiding applications and applications in microfluidics. These requirements are common in industries such as consumer goods and electronics, automotive, medical technology, service bureaus, and the education market.

The seven materials at the same time give engineers the versatility to produce parts that exactly meet their needs, instead of turning to 3D printing or traditional technologies that require extensive post-processing, saving time and money. Materials include the entire grayscale space of the Vero ™ rigid family, the Agilus30 ™ family of flexible materials, VeroClear, VeroUltra Clear, and Digital ABS materials.

“The ability to easily create prototypes gives engineering teams great added value at various stages of the development cycle,” said Ofer Libo, product manager for the J850 Pro. “In addition, with its multi-material capabilities and high throughput, the J850 Pro can test different designs, textures, and material properties to reduce time to market and meet user needs exactly.”

The J850 Pro is available immediately and orders are now being taken. For more information on the power of 3D printed realism for engineering prototypes, visit the J8 series website.
