Torn Banner Studios has worked hard to perfect the medieval battle in Chivalry 2. While it may take longer than originally planned, fans of visceral combat on the show won’t have to wait that long. The release date of Chivalry 2 is now set for June 8th. If you want to swing early, a closed beta will begin next March 26th.
The announcement will be made through this week’s Epic Games Store Spring Showcase. Since the first game in 2012, fans have been looking forward to a full sequel. Nine years later, this wish is finally fulfilled.
There is no denying that medieval combat was a great disadvantage in chivalry. This was no more obvious than when Mordhau arrived in 2019. However, the popularity of such games has declined since then.
The hope is that the Chivalry 2 release will be the shot in the arm for the genre.
A taste for blood
We got the chance to preview things in February last year. Needless to say, the fight was the big showcase. The momentum has become a huge part of the process, and the fight feels even better this time around. Torn Banner Studios has also given players more freedom to play.
If you’ve ever wanted to throw a burning chicken at your opponent, Chivalry 2 gives you this opportunity. On the other hand, the more experienced players will obviously enjoy the game more. There are large format maps for 64 players as well as smaller deathmatches. Choose your poison.
While Chivalry 2’s release date is a few months away, the closed beta can give you a taste of things to do. All you have to do is pre-order the game from the Epic Games Store to get started.
